The white-tailed deer is perhaps the most recognized and revered
wildlife species in North America.  For many of us, an unexpected
glimpse of this animal in its natural habitat can quicken the pulse and
justify the day.  This lovely creature is iconic in American literature
and film, and yet its very popularity contributes to growing controversy     over how many deer are enough and what to do when there are too
  many.

Natural Resource Consultants, Inc. (NRC) is a national leader in wildlife    management, assisting communities, land managers, corporations and
property owners in determining if they have a deer problem and in
  developing effective solutions.
NRC works with agencies, conservancies, private landowners and public stakeholder organizations to review their natural resource management programs and assist them in making the transition from traditional species-oriented management to one based on ecosystem management.  This transition requires evaluating the goals and objectives of existing management programs and policies, reframing the questions being asked of staff scientists and managers, and developing effectiveness monitoring programs.
Experience has taught us that successful implementation of positive
deer management begins with assisting the client by facilitating
effective community-based communication to define the problem,
identify goals and build consensus in finding solutions.  This process
includes providing stakeholders and decision-makers with information
on developing technologies, deer ecology and behavior,
management options, and examining the experiences of other
  communities.
